UNISON is balloting its members in 48 universities across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland over the 2020 pay freeze.
Despite the hardest years of their working lives, university staff received a 0% pay ‘rise’ in August. Once you take inflation into account, that’s a pay cut.
UNISON University of East Anglia invites higher education workers from across the UK to this online rally to find out what’s happening.
Speakers
- Christina McAnea, UNISON general secretary
- Clive Lewis, MP for Norwich South
- Dr Nik Johnson, mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
- Ruth Levin, UNISON senior education officer
Co-chaired by Amanda Chenery-Howes, UNISON University of East Anglia branch secretary and chair of Eastern region higher education committee, and Mobina Begum, chair of UNISON Higher Education service group executive.
