UNISON is holding a seminar for social work stewards and members.
The seminar will be primarily workshop based, focusing on key issues including:
- How UNISON helps members if they are referred to their professional regulator or think they should self-refer
- How the Year of LGBT+ Workers helps UNISON focus at all levels in challenging homophobia, transphobia and biphobia in the workplace
- How UNISON sees violence at work as not part of the job
- Work related stress and personal injury claims – the legal challenges and how UNISON helps members through the Stress Protocol
There will also be a networking session for delegates to link up with other social worker members from their nation/region.
The keynote speaker for the seminar is Dr Ray Jones Emeritus Professor of Social Work at Kingston University and St. George’s, University of London.
