Residential Care Seminar

10 November 2016 9:30am–4:30pm

UNISON Centre, London

An event for residential care workers in both adults and children’s settings to help improves standards of residential care and treatment of the workforce

Unison’s Social Care Forum is holding a UNISON seminar for residential care members across the UK on Thursday the 10th of November at the UNISON Centre in London.  We are inviting residential care workers  from both adults and children’s settings to attend.

The aim of the day is for delegates to develop a new Ethical Care Charter for the residential care sector.  Delegates will work on producing a set of standards determining how residential care workers should be treated in the workplace and the level of care that residents should expect.

Delegates will come together to talk about the main challenges that they are facing in the workplace and to decide what standards UNISON should be calling for in residential care settings.

The cost of the seminar is £20 per person, which covers refreshments, lunch and administrative costs for the event. Branches will also be responsible for the cost of travel and any accommodation.

If you are a UNISON residential care member and interested in attending then please contact your branch office.  Branches are then asked to register delegates by filling in the form that was sent to them by Friday the 14th of October.  Branches are also requested to arrange the travel requirements for their members and any accommodation via the usual routes.

Places are limited to 90 members.  We would like to get a good mix of adults and children’s care workers and ensure that there is fair representation of members at the event.  Please register your delegates as soon as possible and we will aim to confirm their attendance as soon as possible.
