  • define personal protective equipment (PPE) and identify PPE users;
  • understand hazards and risks;
  • understand the PPE Regulations and employers’ responsibilities;
  • examine workplace health and safety policies, procedures and instructions so that personal protective equipment is used as a last resort;
  • identify how risk assessments apply to PPE;
  • take up members’ problems concerning the provision and use of PPE.

The course involves group work and discussion and is a good opportunity to network and share ideas and experiences.
