Influencing the Disability Strategy: post-COVID solutions to breaking down barriers for disabled workers
UNISON and Disability Rights UK are holding a joint online event to discuss practical solutions to the barriers disabled workers face that could be included in the UK government’s proposed new Disability Strategy.
The aim of the event is to try to influence the government who are in the process of writing a new Disability Strategy. We want to make sure the government listens to disabled workers when they write the strategy.
The event will be chaired by Karon Monaghan QC, a top equality lawyer. Speakers include Disability Rights UK, Inclusion London, Equality and Human Rights Commission, Leonard Cheshire, Disability Law Service, Citizens Advice and Business Disability Forum.
The roundtable will look at practical policy solutions to break down the barriers disabled workers face. We hope some of these ideas will be taken up by government as they put together their new Disability Strategy.
