UNISON members across the country have been organising with colleagues to push for changes to the Health and Social Care Visa – campaigning for justice, respect and recognition. UNISON is asking the government to:
1. End exploitation—replace employer sponsored visas with a sector-wide scheme in social care.
2.No retrospective application of the five year qualifying period – and recognition for the vital economic and social contribution of health and social care workers.
3. Introduce a Fair Pay Agreement – establish sectoral bargaining to improve wages and conditions.
Starting with just a small group, members have built a national campaign team with thousands of migrant and non migrant workers taking action on this campaign including meeting with MPs across the country asking them to pressure the government ahead of our day of action.
The Fair Visa Campaign National Day of Action will be held on Wednesday 17th December at the Houses of Parliament in London. The is your opportunity to show your collective strength and make the case for change directly to decision makers.
