COVID -19 and the ‘re-start’ – Understanding the professional issues for registrants

16 July 2020 9:00pm–10:00pm

Online webinar

The pandemic and subsequent restart of wider healthcare activity has thrown up many challenges for professional registrants working in health and social care.

This webinar will provide information on these challenges and how to safeguard your professional practice. National UNISON staff and senior UNISON professional members and health service policy makers will be discussing some of the key issues and taking questions from participants.

This is for all UNISON members who are registrants on a professional register and is open to all others working in health and social care as well.

The learning intentions for this webinar are:

  •  To understand the personal implications of statements by the NMC and HCPC on professional practice during the emergency
  •  To understand better how best to supervise and support staff working in unfamiliar ways and how to delegate tasks safely
  •  To know what action to take to minimise the risk of professional issues or complaints arising and how to seek support if they occur

Panellists include:

– Stuart Tuckwood, UNISON National Officer for Nursing

– Gail Adams, Head of UNISON Professional Services Unit

– Wilma Brown, nurse, member of UNISON Health Service Group Executive and Employee Director at NHS Fife.

– Cathryn Holding – Neuro Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist at Barking, Havering and Brentwood Hospitals NHS Trust
