This 4 hour in-person training session is designed to help set up branch retired members groups/sections, and further enhance existing groups/sections.
Branch retired secretaries, leads, contacts and those interested in setting up new groups, or revitalising existing groups in their branch are encouraged to attend (all levels of knowledge and experience welcome!)
The course aims are to:
– Explore the roles, purpose and scope of a branch retired members group/section
– Refresh understanding of why UNISON organises retired members
– Understand where retired members sit in UNISON’s democratic structures and how to maximise the voice of retired members
– Explore key campaigns and how to get involved
– Know how to access and use resources
– Be better placed to help the branch have an effective voice in UNISON
