UNISON today welcomed Government proposals to clamp down on no win no fee lawyers who generate large profits in employment tribunal claims. Many low-paid women, pursuing equal pay claims, have ended up paying a large proportion of their damages to the lawyers. Others have been charged high fees, out of proportion to the work involved, if they decide to change solicitors.
