UNISON Ambassador Programme – Delivered by Show Racism the Red Card

Inviting activists from each region to a national programme (virtual) starting October 2023

GPF funding has been made available to run the Ambassador programme, delivered by Show Racism the Red Card.

A similar programme has been successfully run in the Northern region for several years. The programme will consist of a national course that will run over 3-hour weekly sessions for 7 weeks, 31 October 2023 – 12 December 2023 via TEAMS. You can download the full programme here UNISON Ambassador 2023 Session Plan

The purpose of this programme is to encourage those activists attending to be ambassadors for UNISON’s anti-racism campaigning and to work with branches and regions to challenge racism more effectively.  Sessions will be a mixture of presentations, inspirational speakers, and group work via breakout rooms.  The sessions are designed to give activists an increased understanding of anti-racism activism, extend their knowledge of what racism is and how it impacts on individuals (both targets and perpetrators) and society.

The programme will be coordinated and administered by UNISON College.  Please speak to your region/organiser to express an interest in being part of this exciting programme.
