Summer UNISON conference agendas – going green
For the four UNISON conferences (National Delegate Conference, WET, Energy and Local Government) in June each year there has traditionally been both newspaper preliminary and final agendas printed in addition to booklets sent to delegates.
The NEC has committed the union to modernise and go green. Conferences and events are no exception. So the President Libby Nolan is pleased to announce that instead of printing tens of thousands of newspaper agendas we will deliver these electronically to branches more than a week earlier than when the newspapers would arrive. Please be assured that delegates will still receive the conference booklet, listing all motions and amendments received, in advance of conference itself.
The cost savings are significant but more crucially UNISON is proud to be playing a leading role in drastically reducing our carbon footprint and tackling environmental waste.
