Branch Secretary News May 2025 – UNISON CaseWeb

The UNISON CaseWeb system has now grown to include 47.4% of branches, making it available to manage case work for 64.5% of UNISON members.

Since CaseWeb came in to use it has recorded over 164,000 cases and there is a current open caseload of over 28,200 cases.

We remain on target to have over 50% of branches signed up during 2025.

Is your branch Interested in using CaseWeb?

If your branch is looking to a more secure and organised way of handling members cases, you may wish to explore how CaseWeb can help you.

The CaseWeb team are running demonstration sessions for branches so that they can consider taking up the system.

Two-thirds of branches that expressed an interest have gone on to use CaseWeb.

Some branches may have considered CaseWeb before but did not follow it up. If still interested or if due to changes in personnel they wish to  consider it again, we will be glad to hear from them.

If you wish to know more about CaseWeb or attend an online demonstration, please email us on caseweb@unison.co.uk  or register your interest at https://caseweb.co.uk/register-your-interest/

CaseWeb news

Case tagging
A process for tagging cases has been added to the CaseWeb system. This allows users to label or categorise cases which may show a trend or circumstance. A number of tags are currently set up on the system:

    • Domestic violence
    • Menopause
    • Migrant workers
    • Neurodiversity

Tags can be used for individual or collective cases. If you are interested in having a tag set up please contact the CaseWeb Team

Referral to regions
The CaseWeb system allows secure and instant referral of cases to the regional office. Branches can make use of the electronic signature process to enable members to sign the declaration for representation. However, if a branch already has a signed paper case form, they can use this to refer cases to regions by adding the scanned form as a manual declaration.
