Branch Welfare Officers: important dates
- April Branch Welfare Officer (BWO) training – we are delighted to be able to offer 3 cohorts [20 spaces per cohort] for BWOs to receive training. Registration is already open: BWOs need to register via the Learning and Organising Service [LAOS].
- Wednesday 15 May (09:15 – 16:15) – BWO Seminar at UNISON Centre in London. An email with more information was sent to all BWOs on 14 February including registration information. Registration is via the Online Conference Service [OCS] and this opened on 21 February. We are also holding a fundraising event between 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Tuesday 14 May, also at UNISON Centre.
- There for You Annual General Meeting will take place during National Delegate Conference in Brighton on Tuesday 18 June. Registration for this will also be via the OCS and will open on Monday 11 March.
Fundraising
Every donation is used to help UNISON members and we know from member feedback how much difference this can make to their lives – just take a look at the quotes we have reproduced in the There for You calendar that have sent to every branch. We also sent a gentle reminder to all branches about the importance of branch donations in order for us to provide assistance to UNISON members. Donations come in different shapes and sizes:
- One off donations
- Regular donations
- Participating in the UNISON Lottery at branch or individual level
- Funds raised through regional fundraising sponsored events/quizzes etc
