UNISON works to ensure college staff feel happy and secure in their jobs, defending them where necessary from outsourcing, restructures and mergers that can have a detrimental and often deliberate impact on staff pay and conditions.

Zero-hours and other casual contracts in colleges leave too many support staff members vulnerable and struggling to make ends meet. UNISON campaigns at every level for secure employment.

Our trained reps are here to support you with difficult situations you might face, including disciplinary and grievance procedures. We also campaign and provide on-the-ground advice about collective issues faced by our members in colleges, including restructures, job evaluation and contract renegotiations.

Guidelines on paid sickness leave and other policies affecting your job have been negotiated by agreement between UNISON, other unions and the employers.
