The European Union is currently negotiating three major trade agreements that will have a profoundly negative impact on public services, regulation in the public interest and employment and labour rights.
TTIP, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership between the EU and the USA is one agreement, which many have heard of. The EU is also negotiating an agreement with Canada, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), and a wider agreement with 23 other countries, the Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA).
All three agreements represent a threat to public services.
UNISON will be calling for their rejection unless key concerns are addressed. To campaign against TTIP we are working as part of the coalition called No to TTIP.
