About this job

Work will be a mix of field based organising activity and support of Regional and UNISON Centre colleagues with coordination and capacity building around priority organising campaigns. Some work will be team based but some lone working will also be required.

Strategic Organising Unit activity is constantly evaluated to ensure best practice and key lessons are captured and shared with the wider union. An advanced level of organising skill and experience is required for this role.

Although the Strategic Organising Unit is based at the UNISON Centre, the post holder may be based at their nearest UNISON Region by agreement. Irrespective of work base, SOU organisers can be deployed to any region for periods of priority activity and campaigns in support of UNISON objectives.
