About this job

Managing a small team of Assistant National Organisers and Assistant Organisers work will be a mix of field and office-based organising and management activity with key areas of strategic leadership responsibilities.  

The postholder will work collaboratively across the union to lead development and delivery of organising strategies to build and sustain growth in membership and activism and secure wins for members. The postholder will work in partnership with elected officials and support, develop, and motivate staff to achieve good organising outcomes.  

 Although the Strategic Organising Unit is based at the UNISON Centre, the post holder may be based at their nearest UNISON Region by agreement. Irrespective of work base, SOU organisers can be deployed to any region for periods of priority activity and campaigns in support of UNISON objectives.
