About this job

It is based at UNISON’s award-winning building, situated in central London between Euston and Kings Cross.

This is a varied and responsible role which includes:

  • Planning and administering the union’s national elections.
  • Planning and administering ballots for industrial action.
  • Overseeing elements of the union’s complaints process.

Primarily you will be a skilled project planner, with the ability to plan and put into operation detailed projects – whilst also being able to carry out major and minor related tasks. You will have the ability to work to strict deadlines, whilst also being able to respond flexibly should priorities change.

You will be skilled in working with different business processes and have good attention to detail. You will be comfortable working on your own and as part of a team.

Your written communication skills will be excellent. In particular you must be able to communicate clearly in writing. For example being able to draft complex process manuals and simple guidance.

Full training will be given on aspects of the law which cover this work.

You will be confident in using Microsoft software products especially Office, Outlook and Project. You will be keen to learn to use Microsoft SharePoint and UNISON’s own in-house membership system.
