We are creating a new team of organisers to work with our members in social care across the East Midlands. In addition to signing the workforce up for union membership you will help motivate them to take an active role in our campaigns. This role will require travel across the East Midlands as the organisers will be visiting workplaces to further our objectives.
The successful candidate will bring their experience and skills in one-to-one communications, recruitment, organising and campaigning. Previous experience as a recruiter, organiser and campaigner within a trade union or community organisation would also be desirable. You will also need to demonstrate knowledge of trade unionism and our union’s values.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible with their working hours and have the ability to travel in a flexible and timely manner across the East Midlands Region and possibly to London for meetings/training as required.
Work will be “field” based, in and around member workplaces. Activity is generally within teams, but there will be some lone working. Some administrative work will also be required.
