The Branch Support & Organising Fund Local Organiser is a new and exciting role designed to take Unison’s organising objectives forward across the region.
The successful candidate will bring their experience and skills in one-to-one communications, recruitment, organising and campaigning. Previous experience as a recruiter, organiser and campaigner within a trade union or community organisations would also be desirable. You will also need to demonstrate knowledge of trade unionism and our Unison values.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible with their working hours and their leave (due to term time access) and have the ability to travel in a flexible and timely manner across the Somerset area. You will be based at our Taunton office but the majority of work will be “field” based, in and around member workplaces.
Activity is generally within teams, but there will be some lone working. Some desk bound administrative work will also be required.
You will need to be able to travel within the geographical location of the region and possibly to London for meetings/training as required.
