UNISON Eastern has 87,000 members and over 500 volunteer activists. The Membership Systems Manager is responsible for ensuring that our membership database is accurate and kept up to date.  The manager will also extract reports from the database and ensure that the union can deliver consultations and industrial action ballots that are legally compliant.

We are looking for a customer focused individual who can fill this role by managing and supporting the Membership Services team to deliver and maintain the high level of services direct to our Branches, Members, and colleagues in the region and other UNISON offices.

The successful candidate will need to

  • effectively manage the Eastern Membership Services department and general office and its functions.
  • Be responsible for staff training and development.
  • Ensure the maintenance and improvement of service standards with departments and Branches
  • Maintenance of the Membership database.

In order to complete this role effectively you will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral, have great interpersonal skills, have experience in motivating a team, able to prioritise yours and team’s workload  to meet deadlines which will include decision making within guidelines and following UNISON policies and procedures, to be a key player of the management team and report to the Regional Management Team, the ability to control and monitor income received into the region. An understanding of Trade Unions and their objectives would be an advantage, but not essential.
