UNISON has a membership of 1.3 million members and its membership system is accessed by 12 Regional Offices, National Office, UNISON Direct and over 500 Branches. UNISON’s East Midlands Region covers Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Rutland. We currently have around 86,000 full members in 58 branches.
The Region employs over 70 members of staff. We are looking to appoint a team member on a permanent contract to undertake a wide variety of clerical and administrative functions within the Regional Secretary’s Organising Team.
The Person
This role is a key position within the Regional Secretary’s Organising Team. You will have skills and experience that include:
- Working pro-actively using your own initiative and without direct supervision.
- A very high standard of accuracy and numeracy in recording and processing accounts and membership information.
- A good telephone manner, demonstrating patience and understanding along with the ability to answer queries.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ICT packages including Microsoft Office suite and ORCA.
- Knowledge of electronic budgeting, financial systems and the ability to interpret financial data.
- Working under pressure and to deadlines.
- An understanding of trade unions and their objectives would be an advantage.
