An exciting opportunity to work in a busy trade union office, providing administrative support across the Southwest Region and engaging with UNISON members, activists and staff.

You will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Regional Organising staff in the Bristol Regional Office, providing services direct to our members, regions and branches.  You’ll develop knowledge of issues and UNISON policy and procedures to enable you to answer a wide range of enquiries from members and activists.

You will be providing direct administrative support to the Regional Secretary, and providing support to the wider Southwest regional team, with a focus on Unison member lead groups and committees. There will also be opportunities to participate in organising campaigns and activities, alongside your admistrative duties.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential as is the ability to organise your own workload.  You will be a team player who can work quickly and accurately to meet tight deadlines, working with sensitive data and information.

You will need excellent IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.  You will be required to regularly use a case management system and membership database.  Training on UNISON systems will be provided.

You do not have to have a Trade Union background, but you do need to have the sound understanding of the aims and values of the Trade Union movement.
