UNISON Legal Services conducts strategically important and often groundbreaking employment litigation on behalf of the Union and its members: successful cases run in-house include the challenge to the imposition of Employment Tribunal fees in the Supreme Court and Lock v British Gas in the ECJ. The team also manages the Union’s comprehensive Legal Services Scheme provides advice at all levels, including the General Secretariat.
In this role you will be responsible for monitoring and organising the work of the team, working with officials and staff at all levels of the Union and external bodies. The work of Legal Services is interesting and varied and requires efficient and proactive organisation and administrative support.
You will be able to work as a pivotal member of a busy team, be proficient in IT, particularly working with spreadsheets, and be confident, enthusiastic and agile.
