About this job

The South East Region is currently recruiting four temporary Local Organisers, to work with our branches to co-ordinate and lead the union’s organising agenda across the Region in our Brighton office.

About this job

At UNISON, we’re not just an organisation; we’re a vibrant community of over 1.3 million members dedicated to championing the rights of workers across the UK. Our members are the backbone of the public services, essential utilities, and private contractors delivering public services.

Are you ready to make a real impact?

We’re on the lookout for passionate individuals who can bring their unique blend of experience and skills to the table. If you’re well-versed in the art of one-to-one communications, recruitment, organising, and campaign strategy, you’re exactly who we need.

Why UNISON?

As a vital part of our team, you’ll be at the forefront of empowering workers and creating positive change in publics services. You’ll be working alongside a dynamic group of organisers across the South East who are deeply committed to our mission.

What We’re Looking For:

Trade Union and Labour Movement Expertise: We’re seeking candidates who can hit the ground running with a strong understanding of the trade union and labour movement, particularly within the UNISON framework.

Recruitment, Organising, and Campaigning Skills: Experience in these areas is highly desirable. Your ability to connect with people, build relationships, and drive successful campaigns will be your keys to success.

Willingness to Travel: This role requires travel within the region, as well as occasional trips to London for meetings and training sessions. Flexibility is key to making a real impact.

Joining UNISON means becoming a part of something bigger—a movement that stands up for workers’ rights, fights for equality, and creates positive change in society. You’ll have the opportunity to develop professionally, learn from experts in the field, and contribute to a cause you are truly passionate about.
