UNISON is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful individual to join our Policy team where you’ll play a key part in developing UNISON policy, giving guidance and advice to UNISON’s National Executive Council, the Policy Development and Campaigns Committee, regions and branches. The post involves working in project teams and supporting campaigns across the union as well as collecting, analysing and disseminating information. You will also join UNISON colleagues in making representations to government departments, politicians and other external bodies.
With experience in supporting campaigns, you will be a natural communicator with good presentation skills. You should have a good understanding of UNISON’s policies and objectives, together with knowledge of labour market issues.
The Assistant National Officer (Policy) is the official title, we commonly refer to it as the Assistant Policy Officer.
