About this job

There has never been a more important time to protect our members in public services and encourage those that are not members to join a powerful voice. Are you a people person with good listening and problem-solving skills? Do you possess the determination to make a difference to people’s lives?

UNISON is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and resourceful individual to support the Greater London Region with an important Organising Project. The project will focus on recruiting cleaning, catering and facilities workers in three Universities in London. The role will focus on identifying new activists and campaigning on key workplace issues.

The successful candidate will bring their experience and skills in one-to-one communications, recruitment, organising and campaigning. This workforce is predominantly Spanish Speaking and competency in communicating with this workforce would be preferable. You will also need to demonstrate understanding of trade unionism and our union’s values.

The successful candidates will need to be flexible with their working hours. Reaching members who work in these environments can be challenging during “office hours” so the successful candidate may be required to work in the evening, early mornings and occasionally at weekends. UNISON has a range of policies to support a healthy work/life balance.

You will need to be able to travel in and around London.
