This role is at the heart of our mission and the post holder will work with the Regional Organiser (Education) and the Regional Management Team to develop and support the education and training interventions and projects that will enable us to meet our aims and objectives.

The UNISON College Membership Engagement Officer (MEO) will be based in UNISON’s Belfast Office but the job may require travelling across the NI region.

The role of UNISON College member engagement officer is wide ranging, and the post holder is required to support a diverse range of member engagement, organising and event management functions and activities in the UNISON Northern Ireland region.

The main functions of the role will include providing technical/organising/event management support to the UNISON College NI and other events, including assisting tutors with the online set-up, hosting and delivery of courses; assisting with room and IT set-up; monitoring room bookings and organising catering; assisting members to overcome barriers to access education including assisting members at physical courses in the UNISON centre; and telephone support to assist members to access virtual sessions or eLearning modules; participating in ‘phone bank’ and other organising and retention campaigns using the UNISON Member Contact Tool and other systems
