As one of the biggest and most influential trade unions, our work is vital to supporting UNISON members.
The Southwest Region is looking to appoint a permanent RMS clerk to work as part of the Membership Team. RMS is UNISON’s membership database and keeping an accurate database ensures members get the information they need, tailored to their requirements, and helps us communicate with the right members on the right issues at the right time.
You will be responsible for all aspects of the membership system and ensuring the details of UNISON members are accurate and maximise participation in the union.
You will be able to work to deadlines and under pressure and have a high standard of accuracy and be confident in using your own initiative.
You will have contact with all levels of National, Regional and Branch staff as well as members and external organisations. Everything you do will be in accordance with UNISON policies and the legal requirements on confidentiality.
Whilst office experience and knowledge of standard office equipment is essential, you must also have good telephone and communication skills and be able to deal with complaints and other issues in a sensitive and positive manner.
You will need to be able to work in a team environment and provide general clerical assistance when required.
This post will be based in our Bristol, Exeter or Taunton offices.
