About this job
This is a challenging, creative and busy role. One day you might be planning the release of opinion polling about food safety standards. The next you could be briefing the general secretary ahead of an appearance on Any Questions, Question Time or Peston. Or looking for case studies to illustrate the impact of staffing pressures across the NHS.
You’ll be a people person with an excellent contacts book. You know instantly what makes a story (and what doesn’t). You’ll have the creativity to devise campaigns to keep UNISON – and the nurses, teaching assistants, care workers and other public servants who belong to it – in the headlines, for all the right reasons.
You will have crisp writing skills, be full of enthusiasm, possess excellent attention to detail, be persuasive, able to work quickly but accurately, have the ability to multi-task, and be brimming with ideas.
