About this job

The Assistant National Officer post in the Health and Safety Unit is crucial to the work of the union across all sectors in which UNISON organises; the post-holder will provide advice and guidance on a range of topics for our members and activists; organise training courses, meetings, lobbies and other events; and support the democratic structures of the union.

The post holder will work with National Officers and will carry out background research, data collection and analysis and develop campaign materials. They will assist in developing policy, advice and guidance to branches on a range of issues linking these activities to the recruitment and organisation for members and their representatives. They will ensure the smooth running of committees and forums and will draft papers for committees.
