As part of a friendly and hardworking team, the role will be to support the General Secretariat including the General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary team. Reporting to the Head of the General Secretary’s office, the postholder will be responsible for the administrative management of procedures and processes relating to the governance and management of UNISON.  Excellent communication skills will enable the successful applicant to liaise with all internal and external functions of the union.

The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with independent and government bodies, MPs and the media, as well as European network co-ordination at national and international level; establish and maintain comprehensive information systems to plan and record UNISON’s governance. This opportunity is diverse and interesting, and will make the most of your ability to manage and prioritise to meet deadlines as well as your discretion and tact.
