About this job
As Head of Conferences and Project Support you will share our commitment to building strong union organisation, empowering our members through participation in our decision making bodies and supporting projects to deliver the unions objectives. If you have a commitment to trade union democracy, experience of delivering large scale events successfully and to budget and experience of managing teams and contracts, you could make a real contribution to our future.
Delivering UNISONs rulebook conferences and events to a high standard and within budget, you will manage our various suppliers and their contracts as well as our directly employed conference team. You will also be responsible for providing project management support across the union to take forward the union’s core activities of recruiting, negotiating, campaigning and improving our efficiency.
With a sound knowledge of the issues facing trades unions today and a shared commitment to our values of equality and democracy you’ll be an experienced manager with a track record in delivering conferences and events, projects and programmes and managing contractors and staff. Naturally, you’ll be articulate and well organised with the ability to work in a team or on your own initiative. Most importantly, you’ll be committed to integrating our aims, values and policies into all areas of conferences and projects.
