About this job

Purpose

To apply practical methods, techniques, work procedures or processes in support, or the delivery of Branch business.

Scope of Work

The role holder will undertake a range of standardised procedures and use associated tools and equipment. Personal initiative will be required within the confines of the role.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Previous relevant experience or the ability to demonstrate the competence to carry out the job
  • Possession of, or the ability to demonstrate the capability to gain, relevant qualifications, and attend training when required

In addition to the skills, knowledge and experience described above, you may be required to undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the role.

Scope of work for this post

Under limited supervision maintain, update and extract information from systems and databases and provide general administrative/clerical/financial support. This could include producing financial and management information and/or the general provision of general advice and guidance to members or call for the use of higher level text processing/spreadsheet/IT or audio typing that involves the use of a range of software packages

Accountabilities/Responsibilities of this post

These could include

  • Respond to, and resolve where appropriate, telephone, face to face, e mail and postal enquiries generated by members, stewards or Branch Officers
  • Accurate maintenance of data within WARMS and financial systems
  • Assisting with the collection and collation of statistics, data, financial information or other Branch information
  • Setting up systems and databases
  • Providing administrative support such as for meeting (including evening meetings), which could entail arranging dates, room booking and preparing agendas, minute taking or notices
  • Administering financial systems as and when required using the OLBA system
  • Support the Branch in recruitment and organising initiatives
  • Coordinating newsletters, EComms, updating websites and maintaining noticeboards
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.  You will need current IT skills including a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
