Members of the branch are people working in Local Government, schools and colleges and for private contractors providing public services.

The post-holder will be required to undertake a range of duties in representing members and recruiting and organising across the Branch. These duties will be undertaken across multiple employers.
Duties include attendance at disciplinary and grievance hearings to represent members, undertaking recruitment activities on a one to one and collective basis. There will also be a requirement to access UNISON’s database and to provide ad hoc reports as required on activities undertaken.
You must also have good telephone and interpersonal communication skills and be able to deal with members issues in a sensitive and positive manner and a high recognition of confidentiality and GDPR requirements.
It goes without saying that you will need excellent ICT skills to succeed, in addition to having the confidence to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team.
An understanding of trade unions and their objectives is essential.
