South Central Ambulance Service UNISON Health Branch is seeking an administrative assistant to support our branch of over 1700 members. The post-holder will be responsible for the full range of administrative duties. Members of the branch are people working in the ambulance sector providing emergency and patient transport services, along with the NHS111 service.

The post holder will provide administrative support to the branch officers and representatives and lay member committees. You must have a good knowledge of general office practice and procedures, data systems and committee administration. Duties include being a point of contact between members and the branch. You must have good telephone and interpersonal communication skills and be able to deal with members in a sensitive and positive manner.

Self motivated, you will be able to work with minimal supervision in addition to having the confidence to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team.

An understanding of trade unions and their objectives would be an advantage.
