The Somerset County Branch and Somerset Health Branch jointly are currently recruiting a part-time Branch Local Organiser (28 hours per week) to co-ordinate and lead the union’s organising agenda across Somerset.

This is a temporary post for 6 months however subject to review may be made permanent.

The successful candidate will bring their experience and skills in one-to-one communications, recruitment, organising and campaigning. To undertake this role you will need to be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of the Trade Union and Labour movement particularly in Somerset.

Previous experience as a recruiter, organiser and campaigner within a Trade Union branch or within a similar organisation would also be desirable.

A sound understanding of trade unions and their objectives is essential along with a good understanding of UNISON’s aims and objectives.

You will be required to live within reasonable travelling distance of the area you are asked to cover.
