The role will include the provision of administrative support to a number of staff, lay member committees and more generally for the region. Candidates must have a good knowledge of committee administration, general office practice and procedures, finance and data systems and procedures. Duties include inputting and extracting data from membership and other data systems, processing financial data and invoices, agenda and committee administration, drafting and producing newsletters and updating the regions website.
You must also have good telephone and communication skills and be able to deal with complaints and other issues in a sensitive and positive manner. You will also need to be able to work in a team environment.
It goes without saying that you will need excellent administrative, secretarial, communication and ICT skills to succeed, in addition to having the confidence to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team.
An understanding of Trade Unions and their objectives would be an advantage.
