About this job

If you share that aim and have experience designing and delivering effective learner–centred education programmes relevant to an organising trade union, you can make a real contribution to our organisation.

Your role will include designing and delivering a range of learning programmes relevant to the union organising and representational issues that our members face, to ensure that UNISON activists have the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to carry out their roles effectively.

You will also contribute to supporting a culture of learning which reflect the issues facing UNISON members and our Organising agenda.  That includes giving relevant professional educational support to union staff and lay members at all levels, from the UNISON Centre to regions and local branches.

With knowledge of a variety of trade union issues, you’ll be a proven tutor and facilitator, with the experience to enable you develop and support learning opportunities for a wide variety of target groups.

You will be well organised with the ability to work in a team and able to take lead responsibility for key initiatives and projects.

You will have good people management and interpersonal skills along with a sound knowledge and preferably experience of e learning and other learning methods.

Most important of all, you will be committed to integrating our aims, values and policies into all areas of our education provision.

Travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays will be required.
