About this job

This role is at the heart of our mission: helping provide the information that will enable us meet our objectives – by researching data, providing advice and helping with requests from colleagues and activists across both bargaining and policy issues.

Working with the regional management and organising teams our Cardiff office, your role will involve:

  • Preparing bargaining and policy briefings; media and press releases
  • Researching material and preparing appropriate reports
  • Compiling summaries and analysing information
  • Creating and maintaining policy/information systems
  • Responding to information requests from members, colleagues and external bodies

You will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, together with experience of working with IT applications.

Beyond that, the ability to prioritise your workload, knowledge of political issues in Wales and an understanding of the trade union movement are important.

You will need to be able to travel within the region and also possibly to London for meetings/training as required.
