UNISON Legal Services conducts strategically important and often groundbreaking employment litigation on behalf of the Union and its members: on-going cases include the challenge to the imposition of Employment Tribunal fees in the Supreme Court and Lock v British Gas.

About this job

You will be required to think on your feet, conduct complex litigation at all levels of the judiciary, advise the union’s officials, advise members who may sometimes be distressed and provide concise written and verbal employment and discrimination law advice to all levels of the Union, including HR. You will need to speak effectively on complex employment law issues when communicating advice and delivering internal and external talks on employment law.

You will be able to work as an effective member of the team, organise caseloads efficiently and within budgets, and be a confident, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Solicitor with at least five years’ relevant post qualification experience in contentious and non- contentious employment law.
