Young members

How young is young?
If you're under 27 years of age then you can get involved with UNISON's young members. We know that there are many members who are still young at heart, but we have to draw the line somewhere!

National Minimum Wage increase
(1/10/08) On October 1st 2008 the main rate of the national minimum wage increases from £5.52 to £5.73 (for those aged 22 or over) and the development rate (for those aged 18 to 21) from £4.60 to £4.77. The rate for workers aged 16 and 17 increases from £3.40 to £3.53 an hour.

UNISON will shortly be making a submission to the Low Pay Commission for the rates in 2009 and 2010.
