Standing committees

Regional committee takes decisions which affect the day to day running of UNISON in the West Midlands region between meetings of the regional council.

It acts on any matters referred to it between meetings of the regional council, and performs any duties delegated to it by regional council.

Membership of regional committee is made of delegates from a range of regional bodies, including 20 members elected from regional council. There are a range of regional standing committees:

  • Branch development and organisation
  • Communications and campaigning
  • Education and training
  • Finance and resources
  • Welfare
  • Sport

    In addition there are the health and safety and international forums, both of which are open to delegates from all branches.

    All UNISON members are invited to join in our sporting events and activities and to come along and share ideas at our regular forums... includes bowls, football, beer bus, etc
