Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence
The regulatory body who monitors and advises the statuary health regulators is the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence. CHRE is a statutory overarching body, covering all of the United Kingdom and separate from Government, established from April 2003. Higher Education Quality Assurance
The Higher Education Standards for Professions is determined by the Higher Education Quality Assurance Agency which benchmarks professional education standards for the HPC and other professional bodies.

Their stated mission is "to safeguard the public interest in sound standards of higher education qualifications and to encourage continuous improvement in the management of the quality of higher education."
