How we deal with casework
Enquiries relating to individual pension cases should in the first instance be sent to the member’s relevant UNISON Branch. If the Branch cannot assist they will refer the case to UNISON Region and if the Region need assistance they will refer/contact the Pensions Unit.If any member is unsure on how to contact their Branch they should ring UNISON Direct on 0845 355 0845 who will provide the necessary contact details.
For any enquiries relating to individual pension entitlements members should first seek written clarification from their employer’s pension scheme. In the case of the
- Local Government Pension Scheme the initial contact point should be the relevant Administering Authority which can be found by going to http://www.lgps.org.uk/lge/core/page.do?pageId=99259
- For NHS Pension Scheme members should contact the NHS Pensions for England & Wales on 01253 774 774 quoting either their membership number or your National Insurance number you can visit their website at www.pensions.nhsbsa.nhs.uk
- For Scotland please visit the Scottish Public Pensions Agency by visiting their website at http://www.sppa.gov.uk/index.htm
- Enquiries relating to buying back Part-Time service under the Preston case members should contact their UNISON Regional contacts through UNISON Direct (0845 355 0845) and ask to be put through to the part time pension contact.
