UNISON celebrates Living Wage win at Gravesham borough council

UNISON’s Gravesham local government branch is celebrating after Gravesham borough council agreed to pay cleaners the living wage.

UNISON negotiated the agreement with the council that will see the lowest-paid staff receive the living wage. Staff affected will see their new hourly pay rate increase to £7.45 per hour.

UNISON regional organiser Zoe Van Dyke said: “UNISON is pleased that Gravesham borough council has become one of the first local authorities in Kent to commit to the living wage.”
