Chief officers and senior managersUNISON for all chief officers and senior managersUNISON is the largest union in the UK for chief officers and senior managers working in local government. We provide negotiating and bargaining support to UNISON's 850,000 members who work in local government and a range of areas including schools, voluntary organisations, housing associations, the probation service and private companies.National agreements relating to senior managersThe pay and conditions of employment for over 1.4 million local government services' workers, including senior managers, is determined by the National Joint Council (NJC) for Local Government Services. Details are in the NJC National Agreement on Pay and Conditions of Service Handbook or the Green BookHow we are organisedThe Chief Officer and Senior Manager Committee meets four times a year. This committee is composed of two representatives per region, one covering members within the scope of the Chief Officers JNC and the other covering senior managers who may be on the top points of the NJC scales for local government services or on locally determined management grades. It elects UNISON representatives to our three seats on the Staff Side of the Chief Officers JNC and sets policy on issues covered by that body. The Service Group Executive (SGE) has two representatives on this committee.Email bulletinsWe send regular bulletins to chief officers and senior managers via our email contact list.
