Meat hygiene: vets
UNISON knows that many vets and contract meat inspectors are employed on insecure contracts and face high levels of bullying at work. We also know that the decision of the Food Standards Agency to re-tender contracts for veterinary and other services is causing concern amongst contract staff. FSA to change contractors - your jobs at risk? The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has announced that the contracts to provide veterinary services are to be re-advertised. This means that each company - Grants, E&J, Hallmark, VMHS, Hygiene Audit, Carrick and ARO - and possibly others will have to bid to provide staff in each cluster.UNISON recognition agreement with Grants Veterinary Services Ltd
This agreement follows the decision of the Central Arbitration Committee on 12 April 2010 to grant recognition to UNISON for the purpose of collective bargaining for employees in the agreed Bargaining Unit.
