Winning the Living Wage
The living wage is an hourly rate set independently every year. It is calculated according to the cost of living and gives the minimum pay rate required for a worker to provide their family with the essentials of life.- In London the 2012/2013 Greater London Authority rate is £8.55 per hour.
- Outside of London the current rate is £7.45.
Your goal is straightforward – to get the employer to pay the Living Wage to all employees. There are often three clear phases to a campaign:
- Get ready
- Make your case
- Take action.
Below are the steps that will help take you through those phases.
We will add new resources and materials as the campaign spreads and grows, so bookmark this page as a 'favourite' so it's there when you need it.
