Stand in solidarity with Burmese people - national protest - stewards needed

(02/10/07) A national demonstration will take place in London on Saturday 6 October in support of pro-democracy demonstrators in Burma who are now being murdered by the junta. Gather outside Tate Britain, Millbank at 11am for a march to Trafalgar Square.

UNISON joins protests outside Burmese Embassy - reports of soldiers standing down

(28/09/07) As unconfirmed reports reach the outside world that some solidiers are refusing to turn their guns on peaceful protesters, UNISON participated in today's demonstration outside the Burmese Embassy in London as part of a global day of action.

Joining several hundred Burmese, trade unionists and human rights activists, the call to the Burmese military is 'stand down, the people of Burma want a return to democracy'.

Human rights conference on Philippines
